Population and settlement pt.3

Net Migration Rate is the difference between the number of persons entering and leaving a country during a year. An excess of persons entering the country is net migration. Written as a positive number. Example: Canada has 5.65 migrants per 1000 population. An excess of persons leaving the country is net emigration. Written as a negative number. Example: Mexico has -1.68 migrants per 1000 population. People migrate for two reasons. First is push factors/ forces such as Civil War, Environmental degradation, unemployment or underemployment, and religious or ethnic persecution. The second thing is pull factors/ forces such as better economic opportunity, better health services, religious freedom, and political freedom. Total Fertility Rate(TFR) is the average number of children born per woman. For a population to remain the same, the TFR must be 2.1. If it's higher than 2.1 the population rises. If it's lower than 2.1 the population fails.
World TFR: 2.42 (It was 2.54 two years ago, 2.47 last year).
